Job Description
UIDP is seeking a Membership Specialist to support the organization's membership function by managing data quality, analyzing engagement trends, and generating actionable research that informs strategy and operational decisions. This role ensures the accuracy, accessibility, and usability of membership information while producing insights that strengthen recruitment, retention, and member value. The Membership Specialist's duties include: Data Management & Quality Assurance Maintain and update membership records within the Association Management System (AMS). Conduct routine data audits to identify inaccuracies, inconsistencies, and missing information. Develop and implement data-quality standards, validation rules, and workflows. Support data hygiene initiatives, including deduplication, segmentation, and system clean-up projects. Reporting & Analysis Produce regular dashboards and reports on membership trends, retention, and engagement metrics. Analyze data to identify insights that guide membership strategy and operational improvements. Prepare custom reports and data extracts for internal stakeholders as needed. Research & Insights Development Conduct primary and secondary research to understand member needs, industry trends, and competitive benchmarks. Support the design of surveys and disseminate them. Synthesize findings into clear, actionable summaries that support organizational decision-making. Assist in the development of research briefs, white papers, and presentations for internal and external audiences. Systems & Process Support Serve as a resource on membership data processes and tools. Collaborate with marketing, events, and program teams to support integrated data workflows. Recommend system enhancements or process improvements to optimize membership operations. Assist with onboarding new tools, integrations, and data-related features. Member Support Respond to internal inquiries related to membership data, reporting, or analysis. Support member-facing teams with information needed for outreach, stewardship, and recruitment. Support monthly orientation sessions. Maintain templates used to engage member representatives. Track recruitment and engagement efforts.

Qualifications Bachelor's degree in data analytics, business, information systems, or a related field. 2 years of experience working with association management systems (AMS), CRM platforms, membership databases, or in business administration. Strong proficiency with Excel and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar). Ability to interpret data, identify patterns, and translate findings into actionable recommendations. Solid internet research skills High attention to detail, accuracy, and consistency in managing data. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage multiple priorities. Big pluses Experience in a membership-based organization, nonprofit, or association environment. Familiarity with data governance practices.

LOCATION
This position is located in Columbia, SC, USA. UIDP operates under a hybrid work schedule, and staff work 3-4 days/week in the office.
