As a Data Specialist, you'll play an important role in maintaining insurance mapping data, supporting electronic registration processes, and helping reduce billing errors that impact patients and providers. What You'll Do As a Data Specialist, you will support the electronic patient registration and insurance mapping process by maintaining accurate insurance data across hospital systems. You'll work closely with billing operations teams to ensure information flows correctly, issues are resolved quickly, and billing processes remain efficient and compliant. Key Responsibilities Review and maintain insurance mapping tables to support electronic patient registration Research and resolve unmapped insurance codes and data discrepancies Process insurance mapping requests from billing and registration teams Contact insurance carriers as needed to obtain accurate billing information Test and validate data for new hospital implementations and identify potential issues Partner with billing centers to support registration workflows and resolve mapping concerns Participate in regular meetings regarding client implementations, system updates, and process improvements Recommend enhancements that improve efficiency, accuracy, and user experience Meet productivity goals, project deadlines, and quality standards Provide updates on work progress, challenges, and solutions Maintain compliance with HIPAA and all applicable regulations Support team priorities and additional responsibilities as needed What Makes You Successful Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy Analytical mindset with the ability to identify and solve problems independently Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment Excellent organizational, communication, and follow-through skills Reliable, accountable, and focused on delivering high-quality work Collaborative approach and willingness to support team initiatives You Bring High school diploma or equivalent 1+ years of experience in medical billing, patient registration, healthcare revenue cycle operations, or a related healthcare administrative role Experience working with insurance data, eligibility verification, or payer processes preferred Understanding of patient registration workflows, insurance carriers, and medical billing practices Advanced MS Excel skills, including data analysis and reporting Working knowledge of MS Outlook and Word It's highly preferred the chosen candidate is located near Sunrise, FL to conduct on-site training Why TeamHealth At TeamHealth, you'll join a culture built around collaboration, innovation, and purpose.
