JOB GOAL
Provide targeted academic interventions for identified students and assist with the collection, analysis, and monitoring of student achievement, attendance, behavior, and intervention data. The specialist will collaborate with teachers, intervention teams, and administrators to identify student needs, monitor progress, and support the implementation of evidence-based interventions.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinates and facilitates the school's academic intervention program. Collaborates with teachers individually to identify the academic needs of students, to set learning goals and targets, and to problem solve with teachers to develop best practices for continuous academic growth of students. Assists teachers with the collection of data, analysis of data results and supports the sharing of findings with all staff. Reviews student achievement and assist with placing students in appropriate academic intervention and support services. Teaches targeted literacy intervention to small groups of students daily using research-based strategies and resources. Assists students using software and materials related to academic and literacy programs. Meets regularly with the classroom teacher to plan instruction that correlates with the individual student's needs or as requested by the classroom teacher. Attends professional development to enhance knowledge of pedagogy and content, especially literacy. Maintains and submits accurate and up-to-date management records of all students' progress. Maintains confidentiality concerning student records. Conducts professional development sessions. Performs other duties and responsibilities related to academic intervention as assigned by supervisor.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
$30 (if certified)/hr. for approximately 25 hrs./wk.

Performance of this job will be evaluated by the principal.
