Primary Purpose:
Responsible for enrolling and withdrawing students at the district level. Process student enrollment, transfers, and withdrawals for the campuses. Under close supervision, perform data entry including Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) data. Use the TREx system to fulfill and send records requests to other Texas school districts.
Qualifications:
Education/Certificate:
High School diploma or
GED Special Knowledge/Skills:
Spanish Preferred Proficient word processing and file maintenance skills Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets, databases, and do word processing Knowledge of basic accounting principles Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records Basic math skills Ability to meet established deadlines Ability to multi-task
Experience:
One to three years secretarial/front office experience, preferably in public education environment
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Records, Reports, and Correspondence Prepare written correspondence, forms, schedules, or reports using a personal computer. Prepare meeting agendas, campus/district communication as requested, using a computer. Maintain a district calendar of events. Maintain physical and computerized records including student cumulative folders. Process new student records, including requesting transcripts and records from other schools, setting up cumulative folders, and entering student data into appropriate databases. Assist parents with the enrollment/registration process, connecting them up with appropriate campus and district staff as needed. Process and transmit requests for student information, including student transcripts for college and universities. Communicate with other district departments regarding student records and enrollment. .Assist campus/district administration with the preparation of reports and student data information. Collect and enter PEIMS data into an established database and verify accuracy according to prescribed procedures. Compile, maintain,file, and distribute all reports, records, and other documents as required following established procedures.
