GG General Responsibilities The position is responsible for serving as a student data information specialist executing a variety of intermediate level clerical and secretarial support tasks in a Norfolk Public School or Center; to include registering students, processing withdrawals, sending and receiving transcripts, and performing attendance and student accounting tasks. Education and Experience Requires a High School Diploma, 2 years of clerical experience and some college level course work. Requires 2 years of customer service experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires a valid driver's license. Essential Job Functions Serves as a student data information source executing a variety of intermediate level clerical and secretarial support tasks in an Elementary School. Prepares and maintains computerized records for students. Responsible for maintaining student records on complex computer programs including attendance, scheduling, grades, special education students, and discipline (SYNERGY). Responsible for registering and withdrawing students; to include sending and receiving transcripts and assigning students. Maintains student records in compliance with local, state, and federal laws, policies, and guidelines. Performs a full range of intermediate clerical tasks to support school administration, teachers and general school operations; as assigned by the school office manager. Receives and accounts for student activity funds and processes payroll data. Responsible for communicating substitute assignments. Responsible for office memos, newsletters, receipts, vouchers, and other reports as assigned. Responsible for maintaining a variety of confidential documents according to established procedures. Collates and mails various pamphlets, newsletters, supplements and other materials. Maintains office supplies. Serves as backup to other clerical staff as required. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Office Manager. Performs additional duties as required or assigned.
