Job Description
Description & Requirements Maximus is seeking a SQL Database Administrator to provide expertise to a federal client in support of their mission critical systems in defense of our Homeland. Your role will involve overseeing database administration, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and ensuring the availability, integrity, and security of our SQL databases. This role is onsite in Colorado Springs, CO and requires an active Secret security clearance. Maximus TCS (Technology and Consulting Services)

TCS080, T2, Band 5Job-Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain SQL Server database environments, including installation, configuration, and patch management.
- Administer and maintain database operational status and performance monitoring.
- Administer and maintain database replication monitoring and fault correction.
- Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies to ensure optimal throughput and responsiveness.
- Perform database design, data modeling, and schema management to support application requirements and performance goals.
- Implement and maintain database security measures, including user access controls, data encryption, and auditing mechanisms.
- Conduct database capacity planning and forecasting to accommodate future growth and changing business requirements.
- Develop and maintain database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data availability and integrity.
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize SQL queries, database code, and stored procedures for improved performance.
- Create and maintain documentation related to database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

Job-Specific Minimum Requirements:
- An active Secret Clearance is required Candidates with dual citizenship cannot be considered.
- 7+ years of experience with database administration or related technologies.
- 5+ years of experience with SQL.
- Candidates must reside within a commutable distance for daily onsite work and on-call requirements.
- This contract supports systems that require 24x7x365 uptime.
