Job Description

Database Admin, IBMi - Clearwater, FL Lincare Holdings United States, Florida, Clearwater May 05, 2026 This employee is responsible for planning, designing, developing, and configuring database systems to meet business needs and requests. The role is a mix of development and production DBA responsibilities.
  • Responsible for administration, capacity planning, engineering/design, performance monitoring, and optimization of the DB2 for I database platform
  • should be able to adapt to rapidly changing environments and technology
JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Supports the design and implementation of new database environments and redesign of existing systems to fulfill business needs
  • Monitors and evaluates performance of IBMi databases
  • Troubleshoots database performance issues
  • Manages database objects
  • Libraries, views, tables, stored procedures, triggers
  • Supports developers and testing team by maintaining test environments and configuring databases to development specifications
  • Works with application development teams to develop data models that support business processes
  • Ensures DB changes adhere to best practices
  • Reviews all proposed DB changes proposed by IBMi development team
  • Creates technical support documentation for databases
  • Acts as a SME on IBMI database structure and environment
