Job Description

PrideStaff, on behalf of their client, is seeking a Senior Database Specialist who will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of the company's database reporting software and its associated integrations . This includes maintaining the Quantum and Oracle databases, developing custom front-end applications, and providing critical data analysis to enhance understanding of the marketplace . The ideal candidate blends deep technical programming expertise with a commitment to security and user support, and must know Quantum and Oracle.
Responsibilities Database Management:
Maintain and modify database reporting software and links to external data providers.
System Upgrades:
Plan and execute software version releases and custom interfaces
Remote Maintenance:
Perform system maintenance and troubleshooting remotely as required to ensure 24/7 operational stability.
Interface Management:
Maintain Quantum interfaces critical for the import, analysis, and reporting of business operations data.
Custom Tooling:
Evaluate, design, customize, and deploy application software and interactive project databases adjunct to the core Quantum system.
Programming Excellence:
Apply generally accepted programming standards to ensure efficient program logic and robust data manipulation.
File Optimization:
Implement tools for text formatting, file conversion, and secure data transfer protocols.
Market Insight:
Provide data capture and analysis to identify new business opportunities and enhance marketplace understanding.
External Integration:
Coordinate access to customer databases and various commercial information sources.
Problem Resolution:
Investigate system issues, define alternatives, and determine
User Instruction:
Provide assistance and informal training to users on software features, data location, and application usage.
QMS Support:
Assist with administrative tasks and provide data to support the Quality Management System (QMS).
Confidentiality Security:
Adhere to strict security standards and maintain total confidentiality of all information obtained in the course of work.
Qualifications Experience:
A minimum of ten (10) years of direct experience with Component Control's Quantum and Oracle database software.
Technical Expertise :
Proven track record as a Quantum analyst/programmer.
Software Proficiency:
Expert-level experience developing front-end reporting systems using: o Microsoft Access & Excel o
SQL & VBA
o Oracle ODBC interfaces
Methodology:
Strong grasp of Good Programming Practices and modern security standards.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field (or equivalent professional experience).
