Job Description

JACOBS has an immediate opportunity for an On-Site Electrical Engineer at our project near Baton Rouge, LA. The Electrical On-Site Engineer acts as the Professional's field representative responsible for supporting the installation and delivery of electrical infrastructure. The role ensures effective communication between project stakeholders and facilitates timely resolution of electrical design and construction challenges. Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary on-site representative for electrical systems. Support construction activities involving medium-voltage, low-voltage, emergency power, grounding, controls, and distribution systems. Conduct daily field observations to assess quality, safety, and installation progress. Coordinate electrical design issues and field modifications with engineering teams. Facilitate review and resolution of RFIs, submittals, and equipment substitutions. Support BIM coordination reviews and interdisciplinary coordination efforts. Monitor installation activities for compliance with drawings, specifications, and design intent. Identify deficiencies, installation concerns, and schedule risks. Coordinate inspections, testing activities, energization planning, and startup support. Collaborate with commissioning, QA/QC, and Owner teams to ensure successful system implementation. Prepare weekly site observation reports and technical recommendations. Participate in project meetings and maintain clear communication among stakeholders. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline. 10+ years of experience in electrical design, construction, operations, or commissioning; or 5+ years supporting hyperscale data center projects. Experience with substations, switchgear, UPS systems, generators, MV/LV distribution, protective relaying, and mission-critical electrical systems. Familiarity with applicable electrical codes, standards, and testing requirements. Strong technical troubleshooting and communication skills. Ability to safely work on active construction sites.
