We manage a robust ticketing system that keeps client requests flowing smoothly, and our team collaborates across departments to deliver solutions that keep millions of members' benefits running smoothly. As a SQL Server Database Administrator, you'll be a critical member of this team. You'll be the expert who keeps our data flowing, our systems secure, and our clients' most important information protected. Your work directly impacts our ability to serve corporate clients, government organizations, multi-employer plans, and more—all while earning the trust of the employees and retirees whose financial futures depend on our reliability. What you'll do Database Infrastructure & Support Install, configure, maintain, and secure SQL Server databases that support mission-critical client operations Proactively monitor database infrastructure, respond to alerts, and resolve issues before they impact our clients Execute database backups, configure backup policies, and lead disaster recovery activities to ensure business continuity Perform routine database maintenance, including performance tuning, patching, and resiliency optimization Collaboration & Client Focus Work closely with our client services and administration teams to understand their needs and resolve database-related requests quickly Manage ticket queues with a focus on meeting incident and SLA deadlines—your responsiveness directly impacts client satisfaction Partner with deployment teams on software releases and infrastructure upgrades Respond to both internal stakeholders and external clients with professionalism and clarity Documentation & Knowledge Sharing Create and maintain technical documentation that helps the team operate efficiently and reduces dependency on any single person Keep our configuration management database (CMDB) current and reliable as a source of truth for system infrastructure What you bring Essential 5-7 years of hands-on SQL Server database administration experience Strong proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server 2016 and later versions Solid SQL and PL/SQL skills; familiarity with MySQL is a plus Comfort working in Windows O/S environments and Microsoft Office tools Excellent written and verbal communication skills—you can explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences A customer service mindset; you understand that our clients' success is our success Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; you can troubleshoot issues systematically and implement lasting solutions Ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and collaboratively Attention to detail and a commitment to quality in everything you deliver Nice to Have Experience with cloud-based backup and recovery solutions (Rubrik, eVault, or similar) Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform or Microsoft Azure Hands-on experience with ServiceNow ticketing systems What makes this role special: You'll work with a talented team that values reliability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
