Job Description
Must Have Technical/Functional Skills
- Strong hands on experience as a SQL Server DBA
- In depth knowledge of SQL Server architecture, indexing, and internals
- Expertise in backup, recovery, and DR strategies
- Experience with Always On Availability Groups, Failover Clustering, and Log Shipping
- Strong skills in T SQL, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
- Experience working on Windows Server and basic OS administration
- Familiarity with monitoring tools and performance counters
- Understanding of database security and compliance best practices
- Experience supporting large, mission critical production databases
- Good communication, documentation, and problem solving skills Roles & Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and administer Microsoft SQL Server (2012/2014/2016/2019/2022) environments
- Manage day to day database operations across Dev, Test, UAT, and Production
- Monitor database performance and availability; proactively identify issues
- Perform backup and recovery using full, differential, and transaction log backups
- Design and support High Availability & Disaster Recovery solutions using Always On Availability Groups, Failover Clustering, Log Shipping, and Replication
- Monitor and tune database performance using Query Store, DMVs, Execution Plans, and SQL Server Profiler
- Optimize queries, indexes, statistics, and database design for performance improvement
- Manage database storage including data files, log files, filegroups, and capacity planning
- Implement database security: logins, users, roles, permissions, encryption, and auditing
- Apply SQL Server patches, service packs, and cumulative updates
- Support database upgrades and migrations across SQL Server versions and environments
- Troubleshoot production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and resolve issues within SLA
- Coordinate with application and infrastructure teams during deployments and outages
- Automate routine DBA tasks using T SQL and PowerShell scripting
- Maintain database documentation, SOPs, and operational runbooks
- Participate in 24x7 production support and on call rotations
Salary Range:
