Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior SQL Developer to join our team. In this role, you will design, develop, and optimize complex SQL solutions that power critical business operations, analytics, and data integration workflows. You will work closely with data platform engineers, architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver high-performance database solutions that are reliable, scalable, and maintainable. Key Responsibilities Design, write, and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views across large-scale relational databases Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines that extract, transform, and load data from disparate source systems into target environments Analyze and tune underperforming queries and database objects, leveraging execution plans, indexing strategies, and partitioning techniques Collaborate with data architects and modelers to implement physical database schemas that align with logical and conceptual designs Build and maintain database objects in support of reporting, dashboards, and analytical workloads Participate in data quality initiatives by developing validation logic, reconciliation scripts, and exception reporting Document database designs, data flows, and technical specifications to support knowledge transfer and long-term maintainability Conduct peer code reviews and uphold SQL development standards and best practices across the team Engage in Agile sprints, contribute to technical planning sessions, and deliver iteratively against project milestones Required Qualifications 7+ years of hands-on SQL development experience in enterprise environments Expert-level proficiency in one or more relational database platforms: SQL Server (T-SQL), Oracle (PL/SQL), PostgreSQL, or MySQL Strong experience developing and optimizing ETL/ELT processes using tools such as SSIS, Informatica, dbt, or Azure Data Factory Deep understanding of query optimization techniques including indexing, query plan analysis, partitioning, and statistics management Solid experience with data warehousing concepts and working within star/snowflake schemas and dimensional models Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage deliverables without heavy oversight, and communicate proactively with stakeholders Familiarity with Python or other scripting languages for data automation and pipeline orchestration Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences Preferred Qualifications Experience with cloud data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Synapse Analytics, Amazon Redshift, or Google BigQuery Exposure to data governance, data lineage, and metadata management practices Experience working in regulated industries such as finance, healthcare, or insurance Knowledge of version control systems (Git) and experience in CI/CD pipelines for database deployments
