Role:
We are hiring Data Center Operations Technicians (L1 and L2 levels) to support critical data center deployment, maintenance, and infrastructure operations in Reno, NV and Portland, OR . This role is responsible for maintaining uptime, executing server deployments, managing layer-1 physical infrastructure, and resolving hardware/network incidents.
Key Responsibilities:
L1 Scope (Deployment & Physical Layer): Perform rack and stack of enterprise servers, switches, and rack power infrastructure. Execute structured cabling standards (copper/fiber bundling, routing, labeling, and optic verification). Conduct server smoke testing, initial power-on validations, and physical audits. Manage data center floor inventory, equipment receiving, and audit readiness. L2 Scope (Troubleshooting & Logical Layer): Perform root-cause analysis (RCA) on server, hardware, and network connectivity failures. Manage vendor RMA workflows for failed drives, memory modules, system boards, and optics. Execute firmware upgrades, out-of-band IP configurations, and remote access setups. Support network administrators with pre-configuration validation and link testing.
Qualifications:
L1: 1-2+ years in data center, lab, or structured cabling environments. L2: 3+ years troubleshooting enterprise server hardware (x86), Linux CLI, and networking equipment. Hands-on experience with fiber optics, Cat6 cabling, transceivers, and cable management standards. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work standard data center shift rotations. CompTIA Server+, Network+, or Cisco certifications preferred.
