Job Description

Behind every great yearbook photo, there's a mountain of data, a whole suite of editing software, and an expert team to handle it all. The Digital Editor and Database Coordinator has all the skills needed to carry smiling faces across to the finish line. Through personalized service, a seamless Picture Day experience, and easy online ordering, Irvin Simon is dedicated to creating delightful experiences for schools and families alike. Join a team that helps preserve milestones students and parents will treasure for years to come. Duties The Coordinator's role is to make sure great photos are the end result of every Picture Day. They handle image transfer, database management, as well as digital editing. Image Transfer
  • Before any work can happen, the pictures need to be in the system. To accomplish this, Coordinators will:
  • Move images from memory cards onto both our local network storage and cloud platforms
  • Verify image quality both visually and through EXIF data
  • Report any issues to the Photography department Database Management
  • Knowing who is who, and who goes where is key to making sure every photo gets to the right place. Key aspects of database management include:
  • Reconciling photographer notes with the database
  • Matching all subjects with the correct groups
  • Fixing minor database errors and reporting on anything major Digital Editing
  • Every group photo needs to look its best.
Sometimes they need a little help to get there!
This position will require:
  • Excellent Photoshop skills and familiarity with a variety of editing techniques
  • A good understanding of digital design and layouts
