Position:
PostgreSQL Database Administrator Position Type:
Contract-to-Hire (6 months)

Location:
Oklahoma City, OK Job Summary:
Our client is seeking an experienced Database Administrator with strong PostgreSQL expertise to support database design, implementation, maintenance, and security administration. This role plays a key part in ensuring the integrity, performance, and availability of critical systems.
Responsibilities:
Design and implement databases, security access systems, data sets, and jobs, including defining parameters for file and space utilization Create queries, stored procedures, functions, and data exports and imports, and perform other data management processes Document and demonstrate solutions through documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, and clear code Provide database and data security guidance to applications development and other technical staff Install and modify vendor software products, testing compatibility with operating system requirements Monitor and enhance system response times and performance using database performance and tuning tools Confer with technical support, users, and vendors regarding database requirements, performance, and capacity planning Respond to database operational emergencies, including recoveries using log files to prevent data loss
Education and Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, plus two or more years of experience in database design or data security administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Qualifications and Requirements:
Strong hands-on PostgreSQL administration experience, ideally within a Linux environment Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), particularly as it relates to database hosting SQL Server to PostgreSQL migration experience strongly preferred (schema conversion, migration tooling, or similar) Strong understanding of database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with technical and business stakeholders
