Job Description The database administrator (DBA) will keep the database up and running smoothly 24/7. The goal is to provide a seamless flow of information throughout the company, considering both backend data structure and frontend accessibility for end-users. Duties and Responsibilities Strong analytical skills Display aptitude for problem solving Strong desire to continue as a database administrator Demonstrate willingness to stay current in field standards and practice Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned Qualifications Solid background in administrating and deploying a large-scale system Strong communication skills with ability to push technical issues to resolution in a fast-paced environment Day-to-day management activities of production databases for system operations. This includes monitoring, troubleshooting, change management, database upgrades & installs, creating backups, and restoring data Design database architecture for large scale, production-quality services Assist developers in application data modeling Participation in daily stand-up discussions and iterative, ongoing database development work Self-motivated with the ability to identify needed processes using best practices Education/Experience Bachelor of Science degree in related field and relevant work experience a plus. Environmental Conditions Indoor climate-controlled environment. Moderate to quiet noise level Physical requirements While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to communicate verbally and in the written form. The employee is physically required to utilize a laptop and other electronic devices effectively. The employee must lift and/or move up to 20 pounds (laptop computer, bag, and accessories). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision. All applicants are subject to a drug screen and background check per company policies
