Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, related discipline, or equivalent practical experience. 5 years of experience in mission-critical facility design and construction environments. 5 years of experience with mechanical infrastructure systems such as HVAC, cooling systems, and water system engineering. 5 years of experience with data center operations and the challenges of mission-critical facilities working with mechanical contractors and cross-functional project teams. 5 years of experience with electro/mechanical assembly and mechanical testing procedures including resolution and comprehensive documentation maintenance for mechanical designs.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience with mechanical/cooling infrastructure. Experience working with the Basis of Design (BOD) process and coordinating system-level schematics with an Engineer of Record (EOR). Knowledge of waste management processes related to data center operations. Ability in fabrication and design for manufacturability of mechanical components. About the job The US base salary range for this full-time position is $144,000-$209,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities Provide expert technical support to data center services and operations teams, defining mechanical system design requirements for multiple data center projects from inception to completion. Develop, implement, and manage the mechanical designs at the site level, starting from the Basis of Design (BOD) through to the issuance of construction documents for new builds, infrastructure upgrades, and renovations. Collaborate effectively with the EOR to respond to site-specific engineering Requests for Information (RFI) and ensure alignment between Google's requirements and the overall design. Own and manage site-level mechanical/cooling system issues during project execution, collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve challenges effectively.
