IDR is seeking a Data Center Fiber Installation & Patch Lead to join one of our top clients for a remote opportunity. This role involves providing on-site technical leadership for data center rack build and fiber patching projects across the United States and Canada. The position requires extensive travel and hands-on experience in large-scale hyperscale data center environments. Position Overview for the
Data Center Fiber Installation & Patch Lead:
End-to-end responsibility for rack build and fiber patching activities within hyperscale data centers. Lead installation and testing of fiber infrastructure, reading technical plans and documentation. Provide onsite technical leadership, escalate issues as necessary, and ensure project milestones are met. Travel across various locations in the US and Canada, supporting different data center projects. Work is primarily onsite, with a typical duration of 4-5 weeks on site, sometimes longer depending on project needs. Requirements for theData Center Fiber Installation & Patch Lead:
Proven experience in fiber installation and patching within hyperscale data center environments. Ability to read and work from technical floor plans, cable matrices, and interconnect documentation. Hands-on experience with fiber and copper cabling, including structured cabling best practices. Willingness to work 100% onsite as a road warrior, traveling frequently across the US and Canada. Valid driver's license and ability to pass customer background checks, including up to 12-15 years of background clearance if required. What's in it for you?
