Our client, a IT Services and Consulting company, is looking for a

DBT / SQL

Developer

•Data Engineering for their Pleasanton, CA

•Hybrid (50% onsite) location.

Responsibilities:

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer / DBT Developer with strong hands-on experience in DBT Core, SQL, Apache Airflow, and ETL/ELT development.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining scalable data pipelines, implementing data transformation models, orchestrating workflows using Airflow, and ensuring high-quality, reliable datasets for enterprise analytics.

Develop and maintain DBT Core models for enterprise data transformation.

Build and maintain SQL-based data transformations, queries, and data validation processes.

Develop and manage Apache Airflow DAGs for data pipeline orchestration.

Design, develop, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines.

Manage workflow dependencies, scheduling, monitoring, and troubleshooting within Airflow.

Implement reusable and maintainable data transformation components using DBT.

Apply DBT best practices including testing, documentation, version control, and model development.

Perform data validation and troubleshoot data quality and pipeline issues.

Work with data engineers and analysts to deliver reliable and trusted datasets.

Optimize data pipelines and transformation processes for performance and maintainability.

Support integration of data from multiple enterprise source systems.

Ensure data pipeline implementations follow established engineering standards and documentation practices.

Requirements:
Experience:

5+ Years

5+ years of Data Engineering / Data Development experience.

Strong hands-on experience with DBT Core.

Strong proficiency in SQL.

Hands-on experience with Apache Airflow.

Strong experience developing ETL/ELT data pipelines.

Experience with data transformation, data modeling, and data warehousing.

Experience troubleshooting data pipelines and workflow failures.

Experience with DBT models, testing, documentation, and version control.

Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with technical teams.

Experience with AWS / cloud data platforms.

Experience working with enterprise-scale analytics/data environments.

Experience with modern cloud data warehouses.

Experience with Agile development methodologies.

Any data engineering certifications are a plus but not required.
