Overview We're looking for a hands-on Oracle DBA with deep Oracle EBS expertise to help drive the evolution of a next-generation data platform. This is not a traditional DBA role - the majority of your time will be spent on modernization initiatives including automation, platform engineering, and cloud-aligned architecture. If you're a DBA who wants to stay relevant in today's market and grow into cloud and infrastructure-as-code, this role is designed for you. This is a hybrid role (Onsite 3days/week in Chicago's northern suburbs). Unfortunately, we're not a position to be able to provide sponsorship now or in the future. What You'll Do Lead design, build, and management of Oracle 19c and EBS 12.2.x environments Drive automation initiatives across database and platform operations (Python, Terraform, Ansible) Support upgrades, migrations, and modernization efforts across on-prem and cloud environments Manage WebLogic Server lifecycle (install, config, patching, upgrades) Own performance tuning, backup/recovery, patching, and system optimization Contribute to architecture discussions and influence platform roadmap Build tooling to monitor and scale large distributed systems Support a mix of project work (80%) and operational stability (20%) Required Experience 5+ years of Oracle DBA experience (hands-on, not managerial) Deep expertise with Oracle 19c (or newer) RAC on Linux/Unix Strong experience supporting Oracle EBS R12.2.x environments Proven WebLogic Server administration experience Strong Linux/Unix skills + shell scripting Experience building automation or monitoring tools for distributed systems Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills Nice to Have Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) experience Oracle Cloud apps (Fusion, EPM, OTM) Middleware stack (SOA Suite, ODI) Terraform / Ansible / Python Oracle certifications (OCP, OCI, WebLogic) Why This Role 80% project-based work (automation, modernization, cloud exposure) - not a ticket queue Clear path from traditional DBA modern platform/cloud engineer High-impact role with influence on architecture and strategy Tight-knit, high-caliber technical team with strong standards What To Do Next If you're a strong Oracle/EBS DBA who knows staying stagnant isn't an option - this is your opportunity to evolve.
