Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Data Center Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting critical data center infrastructure, ensuring optimal operation of telecommunications and networking systems. Your expertise will support the seamless delivery of data services by installing, testing, repairing, and maintaining a wide array of communication and network equipment. Responsibilities Install, configure, and maintain structured cabling systems including Ethernet, Cat5, Cat6 cables, and fiber optic systems Perform fiber splicing and termination to ensure high-quality data transmission Conduct routine inspections and troubleshoot issues with network equipment such as Cisco routers, Juniper devices, and Avaya communication systems Utilize diagnostic tools like ohmmeters and telecommunications testing equipment to identify faults and resolve hardware or connectivity problems Support the installation of telecommunication systems including VoIP solutions and radio frequency (RF) testing Assist with the setup and repair of computer hardware and network wiring within data centers Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems (AC/DC), low-voltage electrical wiring, power supplies, and equipment repair to minimize downtime Skills Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts including LAN (Local Area Network) setup and Ethernet protocols Experience with fiber optic systems installation, splicing, cable termination, and testing procedures Proficiency in reading schematics for telecommunications and network wiring diagrams Familiarity with telephony systems such as Avaya and telecommunication testing tools Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively Understanding of AC/DC electrical systems and structured cabling installation standards Technical proficiency in troubleshooting network issues using diagnostic tools like ohmmeters and network analyzers Knowledge of low-voltage electrical wiring practices for data center environments Experience with Cisco routers, Juniper devices, LAN configurations, VoIP setups, and RF testing techniques Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders Join us to be part of a forward-thinking team dedicated to maintaining cutting-edge data center operations.
