Job Description

Job Description Insight Global is seeking a highly motivated Database Administrator (DBA) to support a large financial services client. This role is responsible for database migration support including the maintaining of high availability, performance, and reliability across mission-critical systems, with a focus on Sybase ASE and/or DB2 environments. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on DBA who thrives in operational support, enjoys solving complex problems, and is eager to grow in a large-scale enterprise environment.
Compensation:
$41.60/hr to $33.10/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.   •  3-5 years of experience in Database Administration (DBA)
  •  Hands-on experience with Sybase ASE and/or DB2
  •  Experience with DB platforms like Oracle and SAP is acceptable, but Sybase ASE and/or DB2 is preferred
  •  Experience in supporting database/center migrations
  •  Strong understanding of:
  • Database administration tasks
  • Troubleshooting and performance analysis
  • SQL and database architecture
  • Database upgrade and migration
  •  Experience with job scheduling tools (Autosys, cron, bash scripting)
  •  Ability to follow and execute runbooks in a production environment
  •  Experience working in Linux environments (primarily Red Hat Enterprise Linux)
  •  Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Responsibilities:
  •  Administer and maintain enterprise database environments (Sybase ASE and/or DB2)
  •  Ensure high availability, replication integrity, and disaster recovery readiness
  •  Manage database replication technologies (DB2 Replication, Sybase Replication Server)
  •  Support database design, implementation, upgrades, and migrations
  •  Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, application, and infrastructure teams
  •  Lead or contribute to the database migrations and lifecycle upgrades
  •  Flexible to work in weekend shifts.
  •  Exposure to additional databases (Oracle, Postgres, MSSQL, MongoDB, Hadoop)
  •  Experience with large-scale enterprise infrastructure environments
  •  Strong learning mindset and adaptability
  •  High level of ownership and results-driven attitude
