Security Installation Technician (Data Center Projects) Our client is a global leader in fire, security, and communication integration solutions, serving enterprise, healthcare, education, government, data center, and retail customers worldwide. They design, install, service, and maintain fire alarm systems, critical communications, video surveillance, access control, and advanced AV technologies. Theyre seeking a motivated Security Installation Technician to join their security business unit, supporting data center construction projects.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist in installing and configuring physical security systems, including CCTV cameras, access control systems, alarm systems, and related security technologies Pull and route low-voltage cables (network, power, and video), ensuring cables are neatly organized, labeled, and meet safety and quality standards Work with the installation team to integrate security equipment smoothly with other data center systems Support the physical installation of cameras, access control panels, alarms, and other devices, including mounting equipment, connecting power and data cables, and performing initial power-ups Install and secure electrical conduit and cable trays to house and route security cabling per blueprints and design specs Assist in identifying and troubleshooting issues related to security system installations, cabling, or connectivity Collaborate with electricians, network specialists, and other trades to coordinate installation activities Follow all safety regulations and procedures, especially when handling tools and electrical components Maintain accurate installation records, including cable routing, labeling, installed devices, and system configurations Ensure installations meet quality and security standards per blueprints and project specs
Basic Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required 2-5 years of experience installing security systems or working with low-voltage cabling Prior experience with cable pulling, conduit installation, and related electrical work Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record Working knowledge of low-voltage systems, including pulling, routing, and terminating cables for security systems Basic understanding of electrical safety, tool usage, and security system components
Preferred Qualifications:
Additional technical training or certifications in low-voltage electrical work or security systems installation (NICET, CompTIA Security+, or similar) Experience in new construction or data center environments Familiarity installing CCTV, access control, and alarm systems Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and security system designs Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs Comfortable working in confined spaces, elevated positions, and active construction environments Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work efficiently in a team environment Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors
