Job Requirements Suffolk, VA Top Secret/SCI Polygraph Unspecified Career Level not specified $125,000 - $135,000 Job Description Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a is currently seeking a Database Administrator (Intermediate) - SQL Server/PostgreSQL to support mission-critical Department of Defense (DoD) information systems based in Suffolk, Virginia . This is a full-time onsite position supporting enterprise database environments that underpin operational and business applications. As a Database Administrator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the security, availability, performance, and reliability of Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL environments while supporting cybersecurity compliance, disaster recovery planning, and modernization initiatives within a high-visibility mission environment. Key Responsibilities Administer, maintain, monitor, and support enterprise Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL database environments. Ensure database availability, reliability, integrity, confidentiality, and performance across multiple production environments. Perform database installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle management activities. Design, implement, and maintain backup and recovery solutions, replication technologies, and disaster recovery capabilities. Monitor database performance and implement tuning and optimization strategies to maintain operational efficiency. Configure and support high-availability technologies including Always On Availability Groups, clustering, failover solutions, and replication. Implement and maintain database security controls, auditing mechanisms, and access management processes. Support Risk Management Framework (RMF) compliance activities and cybersecurity initiatives. Apply and maintain DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and remediate identified vulnerabilities. Develop and maintain database maintenance plans, standard operating procedures, technical documentation, and system configurations. Collaborate with system administrators, cybersecurity teams, developers, and stakeholders to support mission requirements. Troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues, outages, incidents, and operational problems. Participate in change management, configuration management, and software release activities. Provide after-hours support during maintenance windows and operational emergencies as required. Serve as a technical leader by mentoring team members, establishing best practices, and providing guidance on database architecture, security, and performance. Requirements Active Secret Clearance Required Certifications (IAT Level II) One of the following certifications is required: CompTIA Security+ CompTIA CySA+ CCNA Security
