Salary:
$95,000-$120,000 per year, based on qualifications and experience Job Summary We are seeking a motivated Data Center Technician to support day-to-day data center operations in Virginia. This position is suitable for entry-level IT professionals and recent graduates with a foundational understanding of computer hardware, servers, networking, and IT infrastructure. The selected candidate will assist with server installation, hardware troubleshooting, network cabling, equipment maintenance, documentation, and general data center operations. Candidates should demonstrate strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and a willingness to learn and work in an on-site technical environment. Responsibilities Install, rack, configure, and maintain servers and related IT equipment. Perform hardware installation, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and component replacement. Install and maintain copper and fiber network cabling. Assist with basic network troubleshooting involving TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP. Support Windows and Linux server environments. Perform routine data center equipment inspections and maintenance. Maintain organized cable management and accurate equipment documentation. Monitor systems and respond to assigned tickets and operational requests. Assist with identifying and resolving hardware, connectivity, and infrastructure issues. Follow established data center safety, security, and operational procedures. Work with senior technicians and IT teams to complete assigned technical tasks. Maintain accurate records of equipment, maintenance activities, and completed work. Required Qualifications Basic understanding of computer hardware and IT infrastructure. Familiarity with servers, networking, and data center environments. Basic knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP. Familiarity with Windows and/or Linux operating systems. Understanding of network cabling, including copper and fiber. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work on-site and follow technical procedures. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability and willingness to learn new technologies and processes. Preferred Qualifications Associate or bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, or a related field. Internship, academic project, or hands-on experience with servers or IT infrastructure. Experience with ticketing systems or monitoring tools. Basic understanding of data center power, cooling, UPS, and environmental systems. Previous experience in a data center, IT support, network support, or hardware support environment. Work Authorization Candidates must be currently located in the United States and legally authorized to work in the United States . Candidates with valid U.S. work authorization, including
F-1 OPT, STEM OPT, H-4
EAD, H-1B, Green Card, or U.S. citizenship , may be considered based on applicable employment requirements. Education Associate or bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Relevant technical training, internships, academic projects, or hands-on experience may also be considered.
