Foster City, CA 94404 Contra ct on 1099 or W2 terms

RESPONSIBILITIES

Design and develop scalable database solutions aligned with business requirements. Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade database software and tooling. Monitor performance and optimize queries, indexes, and schemas. Implement database security controls and data protection measures. Collaborate with application teams on schema design and SQL optimization. Troubleshoot database incidents across development and production environments. Create architecture documentation, configurations, and operational runbooks. Perform capacity planning and recommend infrastructure improvements. Manage AWS database services including RDS, Aurora, and Redshift. Research and adopt emerging database technologies and best practices

QUALIFICATIONS

Strong experience with AWS and Infrastructure as Code for database resources. Proven Database Engineer or DBA experience. Deep expertise in PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Redshift, or similar platforms. Advanced SQL and query optimization skills. Strong knowledge of data modeling, normalization, and schema design. Hands-on experience with database monitoring and performance tuning. Experience with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies. Knowledge of database security best practices. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
