Job Description This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining Visa's Data & AI policies, standards, playbooks, and guidance. The individual will translate regulatory requirements, industry frameworks, emerging technologies, and governance best practices into practical, actionable policy requirements that can be adopted across Visa. Success in this role requires strong policy drafting skills, sound judgment, and the ability to navigate ambiguity while building alignment across business, technology, legal, risk, and compliance stakeholders. As part of a team focused on scaling governance through technology, this individual is also expected to identify and apply AI-enabled approaches that improve the speed, consistency, accessibility, and effectiveness of policy development, implementation, and governance activities. Data & AI Policy Development, Implementation & Enablement Develop, interpret, maintain, and evolve Data & AI policies, standards, playbooks, procedures, FAQs, and implementation guidance that enable responsible, compliant, and effective business use of data and AI. Analyze regulations, industry standards, governance frameworks, emerging technologies, and research, translating them into practical and actionable policy requirements that can be implemented across Visa. Translate regulatory, risk, and business requirements into clear policy positions, governance expectations, controls, decision criteria, and operational processes. Lead assigned policy documents through their lifecycle, including drafting, stakeholder alignment, approval, publication, implementation, and periodic updates. Partner across business, technology, legal, risk, and compliance teams to develop, review, and implement policy requirements, while providing Data & AI governance input into policies and standards owned by other organizations. Review emerging Data & AI use cases and provide risk-based guidance that balances innovation, business value, regulatory obligations, and risk management requirements. Develop implementation guidance, decision frameworks, FAQs, training materials, and communication assets that help operationalize policy requirements and drive adoption. Use implementation feedback, emerging risks, governance trends, and operational insights to continuously improve policy clarity, effectiveness, and usability. Translate policy requirements into workflows, governance processes, automated guidance, embedded controls, and scalable implementation approaches. Leverage AI and automation capabilities to accelerate policy development, improve knowledge accessibility, enhance governance processes, and increase the scalability and effectiveness of the team's work. Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications Basic Qualifications:
8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a
PhD Preferred Qualifications:
9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD 5+ years of experience developing, interpreting, implementing, or maintaining Data, AI, Privacy, Risk, Compliance, Technology, or Governance policies, standards, controls, or regulatory requirements. Experience developing, interpreting, implementing, or maintaining policies, standards, procedures, governance frameworks, controls, or regulatory requirements. Experience translating complex business, legal, regulatory, risk, or technical requirements into clear, actionable guidance, documentation, processes, or controls. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft content for business, technical, legal, and governance audiences. Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across multiple stakeholder groups and drive alignment on complex topics. Demonstrated experience drafting and managing policy documents, standards, procedures, playbooks, FAQs, implementation guidance, or governance frameworks throughout their lifecycle. Ability to analyze regulations, industry standards, governance frameworks, emerging technologies, and research and translate them into practical, actionable requirements that can be implemented by business and technology teams. Strong knowledge of Data Governance, AI Governance, Responsible AI, AI Risk Management, privacy, and the data and AI lifecycle. Excellent policy drafting, editing, and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive adoption in a complex, highly matrixed environment. Experience reviewing and providing Data and AI governance input into policies, standards, procedures, or requirements owned by other organizations. Demonstrated ability to leverage AI, automation, or agentic capabilities to improve the quality, speed, scalability, or effectiveness of policy, governance, compliance, or business processes. Relevant certifications preferred, particularly the IAPP Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional (AIGP) certification. Additional certifications such as CIPP, CIPM, CIPT, CDMP, CRISC, CGEIT, or equivalent Data, AI, Privacy, Risk, or Governance certifications are also valued. Information for US Applicants For roles located in the US, the estimated salary range for this position is $169,100.00 to $ 270,800.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.

Work Hours Varies upon the needs of the department. Travel Requirements This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
