STANDARDS

JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Director of Information Technology or a designated administrator, performs technical duties to support the accuracy, consistency, and maintenance of student information across district systems. Collaborates with the Student Information Database Administrator to prepare, validate, and maintain student data for local, state, and federal reporting; provides first-line user support for the Student Information System (SIS) and related platforms; and assists site and district staff by ensuring access to accurate and timely student information.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school supplemented by college-level coursework in a related field and one year of verifiable experience supporting and maintaining data management systems, preferably in a public school system.

Licenses and other RequirementsDesired - Experience working with student information systems such as Aeries.

Desired - Certifications or coursework in information systems (Computer Science, Data Analytics/Data Science, Data Management, etc.) or data management.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists in maintaining and updating student information databases, including demographics, enrollment, attendance, scheduling, and program data, to support district data accuracy and reporting requirements.

Creates and maintains staff user accounts for the Student Database Information System.

Supports and ensures accuracy and completeness of input and output data; compares data from a variety of sources and identifies errors and discrepancies; makes corrections, additions and modifications as needed.

Assists with the preparation, validation, and reconciliation of data; computes statistical information for federal, state, and district reports (e.g., CALPADS, CBEDS, CRDC) as required; resolves statistical discrepancies; and sorts, arranges, and tabulates data in accordance with reporting requirements.

Inputs, processes, and extracts data in assigned systems; assists with data imports and exports between the SIS and third-party systems; maintains automated records; develops spreadsheets, macros, and pivot tables; and generates routine to moderately complex reports in accordance with established procedures.

Assists with training and providing guidance to District staff on the monitoring, maintenance, and distribution of educational data; develops and maintains instructions, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and quick-reference guides for SIS workflows.

Monitors data entry timelines and coordinate with appropriate site staff to ensure compliance with district reporting calendars.

Maintains strict data security and confidentiality in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), District policies, and applicable state, federal, and local laws.

Develops, maintains, and troubleshoots Student Information System (SIS) queries and reports to support district and site data needs.

Serves as a liaison between District departments and sites in regards to the access and distribution of data; communicates with personnel and various outside agencies to exchange information to resolve issues or concerns.
