Full Job Description Description:
ACES Mill Road School is seeking an innovative and student-centered Library Media Specialist. This position includes responsibility for managing the school library program, overseeing a technology lab with emerging technologies (VR, robotics, and esports), managing the school's digital presence (including the website and social media platforms), and coordinating the inventory and distribution of 1:1 technology devices for staff and students.
Responsibilities:
Manage daily operations of the school library, including circulation, cataloging, and collection development Promote literacy, research skills, and information fluency for all students Collaborate with teachers to support curriculum and instructional goals Oversee and facilitate the use of the technology lab, including VR, robotics, and esports programming Support students and staff in the use of instructional technology Manage and regularly update the school's website to ensure accurate and timely information Manage school social media accounts to highlight events, achievements, and school initiatives Maintain inventory of all school technology devices, including tracking, auditing, and reporting Coordinate the distribution, collection, and assignment of 1:1 devices for students and staff Troubleshoot basic device issues and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed Provide support and guidance to staff on technology integration and digital tools Valid Connecticut Library Media Specialist certification (062) or eligibility required Experience with educational technology and digital tools preferred Knowledge and experience managing websites and social media platforms preferred Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
