Prescient Edge is seeking a Data Governance Specialist to support a Federal Government client. Please note that the availability of this position is contingent upon contract award.

Description:
Oversee metadata management, data lineage tracking, and regulatory compliance for all datasets stored within the Data Lake environment. Integrate Unity Catalog and OpenLineage methodologies to enhance discoverability, classification, and security of mission-critical datasets. Implement role-based access control (RBAC) measures, ensuring that authorized personnel access data per DoD and
NIST 800-53
compliance guidelines. Submit the Data Governance & Compliance Report, providing an assessment of data lineage, regulatory adherence, and metadata completeness.
Job Requirements:
Experience:
Possess the knowledge and capability to establish, enforce, and maintain data governance policies and frameworks across cloud-based and on premises environments. Personnel must be proficient in metadata management, data lineage tracking, data cataloging, and regulatory compliance standards such as DoD IL-4/IL-5, FedRAMP, and
NIST 800-53
Rev. 5. Experience with data classification models, access controls, and policy-based data lifecycle management is required. Personnel must have demonstrated experience in developing and managing data governance frameworks, implementing metadata and data cataloging solutions, and ensuring compliance with DoD and IC data security policies. Experience with tools such as Databricks Unity Catalog, Collibra, Alation, AWS Glue, or Azure Purview is required.
Education:
A Bachelor's degree in Data Management, Information Science, Computer Science, or a related field, or five (5) years of equivalent experience in data governance. Desirable but not required certifications include Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), DAMA Certified Data Governance Professional (DGSP), or
Microsoft Certified:
Azure Data Engineer Associate.
Security clearance:
An active TS/SCI clearance.
