Job Description•This position is contingent upon contract award •SOSi is seeking a Data Governance Specialist to support mission requirements for a structured approach to further develop, integrate, and sustain a scalable, federated data ecosystem that enhances interoperability, governance, and mission-driven analytics for a DoD customer. The primary objective of the program is to bridge the operational gaps between DoD, IC, interagency, and non-traditional international partners to enable real-time information sharing, dynamic data integration, and mission-tailored analytical capabilities.
Essential Job Duties:
The contractor shall oversee metadata management, data lineage tracking, and regulatory compliance for all datasets stored within the Data Lake environment.
The contractor shall integrate Unity Catalog and Open Lineage methodologies to enhance discoverability, classification, and security of mission-critical datasets.
The contractor shall implement role-based access control (RBAC) measures, ensuring that authorized personnel access data per DoD and
NIST 800-53
compliance guidelines.
The contractor shall submit the Data Governance & Compliance Report, providing an assessment of data lineage, regulatory adherence, and metadata completeness.
QualificationsActive in scope TS/SCI. Bachelor's degree in Data Management, Information Science, Computer Science, or a related field, or five (5) years of equivalent experience in data governance.
Possess the knowledge and capability to establish, enforce, and maintain data governance policies and frameworks across cloud-based and on-premises environments.
Proficient in metadata management, data lineage tracking, data cataloging, and regulatory compliance standards such as DoD IL-4/IL-5, FedRAMP, and
NIST 800-53

Experience with data classification models, access controls, and policy-based data lifecycle management.
Demonstrated experience in developing and managing data governance frameworks, implementing metadata and data cataloging solutions, and ensuring compliance with DoD and IC data security policies.
Experience with tools such as Databricks Unity Catalog, Collibra, Alation, AWS Glue, or Azure Purview.
Preferred Qualifications:
Desirable but not required certifications include Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), DAMA Certified Data Governance Professional (DGSP), or
