Seasonal Work Location:
In-person Summary Florida National Parks Association (FNPA) is a non-profit organization that supports all four South Florida National Park units in research, experiential education, and preservation through retail sales and fee-based educational programming. FNPA is currently seeking a Call Center Information Specialist . Information Specialists act as the primary point of contact between visitors and FNPA, upholding organizational values while delivering exceptional customer service. This role splits time between answering inquiries in our call center and serving as a concierge/retail assistant at designated South Florida National Park Visitor Centers.
Schedule & Hours Hours:
Part-time (typically 15 to 36 hours per week; 3-4 days/week, 5-9 hour shifts).
Availability:
Weekend and holiday availability is required.
Key Responsibilities Customer Service & Information:
Assist visitors in-person, by phone, email, and instant messaging with general park information, Institute programs, and park navigation.
Reservations & Sales:
Manage program reservations (bookings, rebookings, and cancellations), take payments over the phone, and actively solicit FNPA memberships and donations.
Visitor Center & Retail Support:
Assist alongside National Park Service staff at Visitor Center front desks. Complete participant check-ins and direct guests attending Institute programs. Support retail operations by operating point-of-sale (POS) systems, restocking sales floors, and assisting with store upkeep.
Other Duties:
Perform secondary duties or retail shift coverage as assigned by the supervisor. Basic Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Proven experience in customer service and handling fast-paced or high-pressure situations with professionalism. Detail-oriented with strong multitasking, critical thinking, and computer skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills across multiple channels (phone, email, live chat, in-person). Comfortable handling financial transactions over the phone and asking for memberships/donations. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled. A satisfactory criminal background check is a condition of employment.
