Job Description
The classification specialist performs a variety of duties including, but not limited to: processing appropriate paperwork from corrections services and operations pertaining to the classification of inmates within the facility; conduct interview of inmates; create and issue ID cards for inmates; data entry; maintain files; respond to inquiries from inmates; create and maintain statistical reports; and perform other related duties deemed necessary by the bureau commander.
- Demonstrated skill in the use of computer and office equipment required to perform the position tasks.
- Efficient in time management skills relating to daily work activities, tasks, and special assignments.
- Ability to work shifts which may include weekends and holidays.
- Ability to effectively communicate, verbal and written, demonstrating an awareness for human diversity to citizens and colleagues.
