Job Description

Purpose The Data Architect leads the design and optimization of an enterprise data platform within Microsoft Fabric. This role translates business needs into scalable, secure data architectures that enable advanced analytics, AI insights, and enterprise reporting. Working cross-functionally, the architect ensures high-quality, governed data supports predictive analytics and decision-making. Key Responsibilities Lead architecture and governance of Microsoft Fabric (Warehouse, Lakehouse, OneLake). Design scalable data models and end-to-end pipelines for analytics and AI workloads. Oversee data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and real-time processing. Establish best practices for performance, security, and cost optimization. Manage data governance, metadata, lineage, and compliance. Support AI/Machine Learning initiatives and collaborate with data science teams. Translate business needs into technical solutions and lead architectural reviews. Mentor team members and drive adoption of advanced analytics and AI tools. Required Skills & Experience Expertise in Microsoft Fabric, Azure data services, and modern data architecture. Strong skills in MS SQL, Python/PySpark, and data modeling techniques. Experience with AI/Machine Learning pipelines, Machine Learning Ops, and data governance tools. Knowledge of cloud security, compliance, and system integration. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience. 5+ years in data architecture/engineering; 3+ years in cloud platforms. 3+ years with Microsoft Fabric or Azure analytics. Experience supporting AI/Machine Learning solutions and working in Agile environments. Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
