Full Job Description Scheduled:
Monday - Friday 07:30-16:00 We're searching for a Pharmacy Info System Coord-EPIC, develop, configures, test and maintains Pharmacy Information Systems and database application, including Sunrise Medication Management, Pyxis, BAXA, Lexicomp and other pharmacy specific data bases. Works with clinical application users throughout the organization to ensure system production is optimal, with respect to system configuration, maintenance and functionality. Works with Pharmacy Systems Manger and Pharmacy Administrative Team to analyze and design workflows and processes ensuring optimal design and implementation of automation and information systems within the pharmacy and organization related to medication use. Responsible for integrity and accuracy of technology used in the medication management. Candidates with compounding outpatient pharmacy experience are highly desired, as this role will be responsible for EPIC system builds for oral suspension medications. Experience with EPIC, either as an EHR super user or through EHR training, is also desired. This position primarily works remotely, with occasional on‑site responsibilities to attend collaborative meetings. Essential Functions Responsible for the design, configure, testing and maintenance of pharmacy information systems, including serving as a liaison to the IT department, participating in necessary conference calls, meeting with outside vendors to ensure optimal execution of existing and new systems. Responsible for ongoing maintenance, upgrades and performance monitoring of all pharmacy database applications. Perform various database system audits, to determine utilization issues and additional system resource requirements in order to maintain a high degree of system and application reliability, data and systems integrity. Monitors revenue reports, and ensures integrity of charges/credits functionality. Oversees revenue cycle management analysis and reports results to the Pharmacy Systems Manager. Analyze and design automation processes for the Pharmacy department. Work with users and other developers throughout the organization in the workflow analysis, functional design, implementation and testing of all aspects of development and modification to incorporate new and additional automation procedures. Coordinates systems training and orientation of employees, including development maintenance of all documentation manuals for all Pharmacy applications, including SMM, Pyxis, and BAXA Support Pharmacy team members on Pharmacy systems functionality and application software, conducting training to maximize system utilization. Create and maintain documentation pertaining to user guides, development and system functional specifications, development methodologies and system updates and general maintenance. Evaluates and documents outcome of training through reassessment of staff skills and use of systems Act as a resource for Pharmacy related issues and automation processes within the organization. Calculates data, executes data queries, create reports, and assists in the preparation of defined aggregate reports, including tables and graphs, for analysis by various departments, the medical staff, interdisciplinary committees, and other groups. Serves as a content expert throughout the organization for medication system related functions, including working with multidisciplinary committees to ensure collaboration, safety and optimization of all computerized systems relating to medication functions
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Mathematical skills necessary for algebraic conversions,, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Knowledge and experience in use of hospital pharmacy information systems. Verbal and written communication skills sufficient/necessary to receive and deliver information accurately among pharmacy staff and others. Ability to lead and teach using effective written and oral instructions. Requires analytical abilities to facilitate various project teams in formulating future work processes as it involves automated systems. Ability to evaluate workflow, analyze date, develop intra and interdepartmental process changes, policies, procedures and departmental goals. Ability to work with limited supervision, manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Pharmacy required Minimum 3 years hospital pharmacy practice experience required, preferably in a pediatric environment Experience with Medical/Pharmacy Information Systems preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
Must acquire/maintain a Nebraska Pharmacy license required EOE/Vets/Disabled IND123
