Raritan Valley Community College has an anticipated opening for a Student & Faculty Data Coordinator in the Returning & Incarcerated Student Education (RISE) Department. The Student and Faculty Data Coordinator will assist with overall data management, responsible for collecting information and assessing the needs of students and using that knowledge to guide the Returning & Incarcerated Student Education (RISE) program's course offerings to meet those needs. One of the primary responsibilities will be to oversee all student and faculty data. Specifically, the position will be responsible for the maintenance of student data records for current and former students, which include information about who may enroll in RISE classes; placement test results; student progress; grades for past courses; records of pending and past graduates of the RISE program; processing student evaluations; and records related to the grade-appeals process. For faculty, this position will manage our faculty online database, including clearances, DOC and PREA training, course materials, materials checklists, etc. The person in this role must maintain DOC clearance in order to meet with our incarcerated students. Using information ascertained from an analysis of student needs at each facility, the RISE Student and Faculty Data Coordinator will work with the Director and Assistant Director to determine which subjects need to be offered each semester, with the goal of having our incarcerated students complete their degrees in the shortest time possible. In addition, the RISE Student and Faculty Data Coordinator will be responsible for helping the RISE program to quickly identify problem areas that need to be addressed and developing appropriate reports related to duties.?
Essential Duties:
Conduct online degree audits and use that information to guide our course offerings at each facility. Direct and oversee student degree planning, degree progression, student transfer, and graduation planning with RISE Director. Faculty Observations & Student Course Evaluations - print, package, and send to various facilities. Work with the DOC to ensure that all teachers are cleared and trained, which is required of all who work in the RISE program. Teachers who cannot be cleared or trained may not work inside the prison facilities. Send DOC clearance apps. Identify course materials needed and submit materials checklists for approval to the NJDOC in a timely fashion. Update

Oversee the Add/Drop and Withdrawal processes, approving NJ-STEP counselor requests and handling changes in the Banner enrollment system. Coordinate the student appeals process, including making recommendations about student appeals and grievances. Processing admissions and enrollment information in Banner and preparing materials for admitted students. Process final grades in Banner. Maintain database of released students and their progression/needs. Bachelor's degree required. At least 3 years of higher education related experience, preferably as an advisor, counselor, or academic recruiter. Student and Faculty Data Coordinator must have demonstrated ethics and highly developed judgment to work with a vulnerable student population. Strong understanding and adherence to FERPA student privacy, especially when dealing with sensitive information about students. Significant experience working with Microsoft Office. Must have in depth knowledge of the liberal arts degree program requirements. Outstanding organization and leadership abilities, including ability to synthesize large volumes of information. Must have experience working inside NJDOC facilities. Potential to obtain full DOC clearance. Excellent communication skills (oral and written). Position requires work on evenings and weekends as needed.
