Job Description

Overview :
This position will support the curriculum and instructional goals of the Watertown CSD by supporting Multi-Tier Systems of Support in Watertown CSD, with a focus on Watertown High School. The individual in this position will be responsible for developing, implementing, and assessing MTSS processes and student supports. The individual should have strong leadership skills with the ability to facilitate data-driven discussions with teachers, support staff, and principals to improve student-learning outcomes, specifically related to New York State academic and Social Emotional Learning and Mental Health Standards PreK-12. Additionally, the person in this position will be responsible for oversight of the building's data entered into and pulled from SchoolTool. This includes implementing, maintaining, managing, and troubleshooting data services and systems and coordinating reports with other appropriate offices/administrators. This role expands student access to learning loss recovery professionals, enhancing staff and student capacity to address learning loss, and implementing culturally and linguistically responsive student supports.
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the GED and credit recovery programs at Watertown HS
  • Lead and facilitate comprehensive building and district wide MTSS, including developing, implementing, and assessing processes.
  • Facilitate the collaboration of various student support services related to academics, mental health, and social emotional learning at the building and district level.
  • Lead and coordinate the integration of New York State Department of Education standards and initiatives related to social emotional learning and mental health continuum at the classroom, building, and district levels.
  • Facilitate multi-disciplinary team meetings (school counselors, nurses, psychologists, social workers, teachers, etc.) to coordinate collaboration to support students and families and implement state, district, and building wide initiatives.
  • Provide district-level training and support related to mental health, trauma informed practices, diversity, equity, inclusion, and crisis response plans.
  • Work closely with the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction to support the implementation of NYSED's diversity, equity, and inclusion initiative.
  • Develop, organize, and facilitate community outreach, family engagement, and parent education to support the needs of students and their families by bridging the school to home connection.
  • Support building level leadership in the implementation of character education programming.
  • Attend local collaborative meetings and learning opportunities related to SEL, mental health and wellness, and community and family engagement.
  • Support and troubleshoot Student Information System for the purpose of managing large amounts of information in an efficient and accurate manner.
  • Assists with the set-up, collection, and processing of student assessment data and accounts for the purpose of providing an efficient system and communicating information.
  • Oversee the NYS Assessment Program
  • Responds to inquiries from a variety of sources (e.g. staff, administrators, school site personnel, outside vendors and service providers, etc.) for the purpose of providing technical assistance, advice, and support.
  • Serve on the Program Advisory Committee and meeting weekly with the Home School Coordinator.
  • Work with the Home-School Coordinator to address attendance issues.
  • Log data in City Span for outcome analysis and funding documentation.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by their supervisor.
Pay:
$75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
