Position Department Quantitative Reasoning Center Job Summary/Basic Function The Quantitative Reasoning Center at Dickinson College seeks an innovative and collaborative leader to expand data-driven, quantitative, experiential learning opportunities for undergraduate students. This individual will cultivate partnerships with on-campus stakeholders, as well as business, nonprofit, government, and community organizations and develop project-based experiences through which students apply data analytic tools to real-world challenges. The position will provide leadership for applied student projects, mentoring programs, and data-oriented campus workshops. Conceived as a five-year appointment, this position is designed to build new infrastructure for applied analytics partnerships and experiential learning, with opportunity for innovation and program growth.
Essential Functions:
Direct and expand data-oriented experiential learning opportunities, including the existing Q-Fellows program. The Q-Fellows program pairs students with campus partners for data-driven research projects and is supported by the Quantitative Experiential Learning Fund. Supervise and mentor individual students and project teams engaged in applied analytics work, including developing mentoring structures that support student learning, professional development, career readiness competencies, and collaborative problem solving. Guide student teams in project management, communication of findings, and engagement with project partners. Cultivate partnerships with faculty and on-campus organizations, as well as businesses, nonprofits, government agencies, and other groups to generate applied project opportunities for students. Collaborate with partners to shape meaningful student projects grounded in authentic data problems. Contribute to the strategic growth of the QR Center's role in experiential and applied quantitative education. Advance new programs, partnerships, and project models that expand applied learning opportunities. Required:
