m., some evenings and weekends Please apply online: https://franciscan.edu/analytics-engineer/ POSITIONSUMMARY The Analytics Engineer (AE) is responsible for assistance in architecting a comprehensive data program to supportthe University's mission and strategic initiatives. The AE coordinates and assists with both internal and external data and analyticsrequests and aligns those requests with proper data models, to ensure timely and accurate reporting. When a proper data model does notexist, the AE will support building ingestion pipelines and modeled data to support repeatable business intelligence for the University.

Working collaboratively across the University, the AE will assist in data engineering, data science, and data analysis tasks, in addition tocoaching business and data analysts on best and repeatable practices using SQL, Cloud Tools, PowerBI Dashboards, and related products.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
The AE provides coordination for the collection, management, interpretation, and use ofinstitutional data for decision-making in support of the University's mission and strategic goals. The AE works with stakeholders to developsystematic methods to collect and integrate data from multiple sources and translate data into usable information. The AE is frequentlycalled upon to develop, or assist in developing, reports and presentations that effectively communicate key research findings (such as keyperformance indicators) to a variety of audiences, within a limited but growing data platform in which the engineer can contribute. 2. The AE coordinates the provision, analyses, and reporting of institutional data to meet the needs of various internal and externalstakeholders. The AE shall follow appropriate guidelines to ensure data accuracy. The AE upholds data integrity by implementing standardbusiness processes and maintaining thorough documentation of data provision guidelines and methodologies. The AE frequently providesconsultations to stakeholders to establish appropriate data request parameters and define actionable research questions. 3. The AEworks collaboratively with multiple University departments as well as other directors and staff on projects related to planning, assessment,and accreditation. The AE also maintains good working relationships with faculty, staff, and units across the University to enhance dataquality and integrity. The AE will serve on University committees (such as those related to data governance) and ad-hoc working groups tofacilitate appropriate and effective use of data. The AE often serves as a subject expert or project manager for interdepartmental projectsthat utilize institutional data. 4. The AE may be a member of the University's Data Governance Committee and assists in developing,implementing, and improving institutional policies and practices that are related to formal management of data assets. These policies andpractices address key issues such as data ownership, standardization, validity, reliability, access, and security. The AE is deeply involvedin the promotion of data literacy and data quality across campus. 5. Works with designated others to maintain a compliance calendar.

Contributes IR data to compliance reporting related to federal, state, institutional and program accreditation; May serve as theinstitutions IPEDS keyholder. Research industry trends. Collects, analyzes, and disseminates data for units throughout the University. This is not intended to be an all-inclusive list. REQUIREMENTS
Must understand, support, and embrace the mission of FranciscanUniversity of Steubenville and possess the following: Technical Skills 1. Familiarity with technology is essential.

Knowledge and experience with the following are highly desirable: ERP CRM and SIS data models; SQL, Python, dimensional data modeling, datawarehousing, and data lake engineering. 2. Experience with requirements gathering from stakeholders. 3. Experience withvisualizing or communicating data, through tools such as Excel and PowerBI. 4. Excellent communication and organizational skills. 5. Demonstrated ability to follow detailed instructions and guidance from external agencies and internal leadership. 6. Theability to be honest and direct, while charitably guiding stakeholders towards an improved information state. Non-TechnicalSkills (Competencies): 1. Quality of Work

Education & Experience:
1. Master's degree or equivalent professional experience. Will considercandidates with progressive work experience in information gathering, query writing, processing, data analysis, and reporting, andleadership, preferably in IR. 2. Proven history of success in developing data, research, and reports; both quantitative andqualitative; to support decision-making. 3. Relevant experience that includes data collection, analysis, and interpretation;external reporting. Data modeling experience is highly favorable. 4. Demonstrated competence in communication, collaboration, andproject management.
Workplace Factors:
1. Some evening and weekend work may be required. 2. Must be availableto work onsite at the Steubenville, Ohio campus. 3. This position supports partial (hybrid) remote work arrangements to becoordinated between AE and supervisor.
