As a co-founder, you will have a direct influence on the company's vision, while leveraging your deep knowledge of database systems and data engineering to build scalable, efficient, and secure data solutions. Duties Lead the design, development, and maintenance of robust data models and database architectures across various platforms including SQL Server, Oracle, and Linux-based systems. Architect and implement scalable ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes using tools such as SSIS and custom scripts in Java or Python to facilitate seamless data integration. Develop and optimize data warehouses to support advanced analytics, reporting, and decision-making processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, analyze data needs, and translate them into efficient database solutions. Manage database security, backups, recovery procedures, and performance tuning to ensure high availability and integrity of critical data assets. Contribute to the development of software applications by integrating databases with backend systems using PL/SQL, Java, Python, or other relevant technologies. Participate actively in Agile development cycles, providing insights on data architecture improvements and ensuring alignment with business goals. Skills Extensive experience with SQL-based databases such as Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle; strong understanding of database design principles. Proficiency in data modeling techniques for creating efficient schemas that support large-scale data warehouses. Hands-on knowledge of ETL tools like SSIS along with scripting skills in Python or Java for custom data processing tasks. Familiarity with SAP systems integration and understanding of enterprise resource planning (ERP) workflows is a plus. Strong analysis skills to interpret complex datasets and provide actionable insights for strategic decision-making. Experience working within Linux environments for deploying and managing database servers and related applications. Minimum Requirements Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field — required due to the advanced theoretical knowledge demanded by HIPAA-compliant, multi-tenant SaaS database architecture. Proficiency in SQL and at least one major RDBMS (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Microsoft SQL Server). Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis, DynamoDB, or equivalent) Hands-on experience with AWS cloud database services (RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, S3, Redshift, or equivalent) Knowledge of database design principles including normalization, indexing, query optimization, and multi-tenant data isolation Experience with containerized deployment environments (Docker and/or Kubernetes) Understanding of data security practices including encryption at rest and in transit, RBAC, access control, and audit logging Experience with version control systems (Git) and scripted, version-controlled database migrations Minimum 5 years of progressive software or database engineering experience in a production environment Preferred Qualifications Prior software development engineering experience at a large-scale technology company (e.g., hyperscale cloud or e-commerce platforms) with direct exposure to AWS-native data services Prior DevOps engineering experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes) and infrastructure-as-code tooling Familiarity with HIPAA data handling requirements and health-data compliance frameworks Experience in a SaaS or health-tech startup environment Knowledge of ETL pipeline tooling (Apache Kafka, Airflow, or equivalent) Proficiency with BI/analytics tools (Snowflake, Tableau, Power BI) Experience presenting technical concepts to non-technical audiences including investors, clients, or board members Experience managing or coordinating remote or offshore development teams Demonstrated ability to contribute to revenue growth through technical client engagement or pre-sales support
Salary Range:
USD $76200 - 80,000 per year for 40 hours but this position is part time so salary will be pro rated to 20 hours.

$38,100.00 - $40,000.00 per year
