  • IT Systems Employee Class Student Employee College Work Study Position Yes Department IT Systems Division Information Technology Hours per week 15-26 Hiring Rate $11/hr Preferred Student Classification Nature & Purpose of Position The Systems Student Worker supports the Systems team in maintaining an accurate inventory of software used across the organization.
The position involves researching key information for each software title (e.g., version, publisher, license and support status, and lifecycle dates) and updating the TeamDynamix CMDB accordingly. The role also assists with reporting to help identify incomplete or inaccurate records and to support compliance and risk-reduction efforts. This position provides practical experience with software inventory management and auditing. Other Requirements for the Position Primary Responsibilities Work with the IT Systems team to gather, update and report information specific to software used by the team to support Sam Houston State University's information systems. Other Specifications Demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to research, record, and validate software information. Proficiency with spreadsheets and basic reporting tools to organize data and identify issues. Foundational understanding of software and computing environments (applications, servers/endpoints, and basic security concepts). Ability and willingness to learn asset management tools (e.g., TeamDynamix CMDB) and adhere to data entry standards. Effective written communication skills to document findings and changes.
Work schedule:
15-26 hours per week during standard business hours (8:00 a.m
