The Position Job Title Data Governance Manager - Analytics Job Description Job Summary As the Data Governance Manager, you will be a key member of our Analytics Solutions team at First United Bank. This position is focused on building and operationalizing an enterprise data governance framework that measurably improves data quality and protects sensitive data across the organization. You will define governance policies, standards, and accountability structures while collaborating closely with business owners, department analysts, Technology, Information Security, and other key stakeholders to ensure the consistency, quality, and protection required to meet business needs. Responsibilities Roll out an enterprise-wide data governance framework encompassing data quality improvement, sensitive data protection, governance metrics, policies and standards, processes, related tools, and data architecture. Define roles, responsibilities, and clear accountability for data stewardship of the company's principal information assets. Coach and develop data stewards to drive ownership at the source. Serve as the liaison between Business/Functional areas and Technology to ensure data-related requirements—especially for sensitive data protection—are clearly defined, communicated, and factored into operational prioritization and planning. Facilitate the development and implementation of data quality standards, data protection standards, and adoption requirements. Ensure policies are practical and adopted, not just published. Define performance indicators and quality metrics, build recurring scorecards for leadership, and ensure compliance with data governance policies, standards, roles, and adoption requirements. Knowledge and Skills Requirements 5+ years in data quality management, information architecture, and governance design/implementation with significant influence on program direction. Understanding of Master Data Management technology landscape, processes, and design principles. Demonstrated experience operationalizing data governance policies, procedures, and standards—with a proven track record of driving adoption and managing data assets in complex organizations. Proven ability to build cross-functional relationships that result in organizational change. Experience with data catalogs, data quality technologies, and hands-on change management. Strong relationship-building skills with excellent written and verbal communication. Ability to translate governance requirements into language that resonates with business and technical audiences alike. Education Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field. Work experience will be of equal, if not greater, importance. Data Governance certification (e.g., CDMP, DGSP) or applicable vendor/industry certification is preferred but not mandatory.
