TSDS PEIMS
Analyst provides high-level technical expertise, training, and consultative support to Region 12 Local Education Agencies (LEAs) and internal customers. This role is responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timely submission of state-mandated data through the Texas Student Data System (TSDS) and the Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) to the Texas Education Agency (TEA).
Qualifications Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree preferred Three years of experience in a Texas School District or Campus setting preferred Special Knowledge/Skills Strong background in technical support, networking, operating systems, and data administration. Advanced expertise in TSDS Core Collections, including ECDS (Early Childhood Data System), and the overarching Public Education Information Management System. Deep knowledge of the Texas Education Data Standards (TEDS), theTexas Student Data System-TSDS, TEASE, TEAL and Texas Records Exchange System (TREx) General knowledge of the Financial Accounting Resource Guide (FASRG), Data Validation (RDA), and Accountability systems; working knowledge of federal and state laws regarding student and business data coding. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proven ability to speak effectively before groups and deliver complex technical presentations to diverse audiences with quality customer service. Highly organized self-starter capable of managing program logistics and complex projects through proactive problem-solving and detail-oriented scheduling. Ability to research and interpret complex policies and translate raw data into actionable insights using advanced software (spreadsheets and word processing). A team player committed to fostering a positive workplace culture and continuous professional growth to remain a subject matter expert in the field. TSDS/PEIMS
data submissions for all Region 12 LEAs, ensuring data aligns with state standards before final transmission to the Texas Education Agency. Provide direct support and technical assistance to LEAs regarding complex
TSDS/PEIMS
issues, data errors, and system navigation. Design and deliver high-quality professional development and workshops to district personnel on data standards and reporting requirements. Maintain the
TSDS/PEIMS
listserv and departmental website to ensure regional stakeholders receive timely updates on reporting deadlines and system changes. Participate in statewide TSDS activities, including mandatory training and collaborative research, to assist in software evaluation and development. Implement Quality Management System (QMS) initiatives to drive continuous improvement in data services and customer satisfaction. Exercise self-initiative in diagnosing district needs, applying resources, and conducting the necessary research and testing to resolve complex data discrepancies. Security-sensitive positions are those which require employees to be entrusted with certain types of data, whether electronic or in paper form. Those data elements, as defined by the ESC 12 Data Classification and Handling Policy may include, but not limited to: Sensitive Personal Information (SPI) Personally, Identifiable Information (PII) Protected Health Information (PHI) Family Educational Records (FERPA Data) Federal Tax Information (FTI) All employees must adhere to all security-related policies, standards, and procedures. This includes actively safeguarding data and immediately reporting any suspected loss or theft. Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors Travel Travel within the region, state, and nation when appropriate Tools/Equipment Used Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals Posture Prolonged sitting, occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting Motion Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of a mouse; occasional reaching Lifting Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds) Environment May work prolonged or irregular hours, frequent regional travel, occasional statewide travel, and out-of-state travel Mental Demands Manage multiple tasks and work cooperatively with others, Maintain a calm attitude in demanding situations, Make changes and adapt to various responsibilities on an ongoing basis, and Work with frequent interruptions, tight deadlines, and limited office space. Benefit Information ESC Region 12 provides a monetary contribution up to $575 per month to use for employee/family healthcare and supplemental benefits. Employee earns state personal, sick, and vacation leave.
