Data Base Manager Job Description The Data Base Manager supports complex ship integration efforts by managing data, documentation, and action items that enable the physical design, installation, testing, and maintenance of U.S. Navy combat systems. This full-time, on-site role in Dahlgren, VA works closely with engineers, technicians, and support personnel to track and maintain critical information for major refueling and complex overhaul programs, ensuring accurate records, effective coordination, and continuous process improvement. Responsibilities Actively participate as a core member of a multidisciplinary team of engineers, technicians, and support personnel to provide ship integration services that address the physical design, installation, testing, and maintenance of U.S. Navy combat systems. Support Ship Design Managers (SDMs), Mission Systems Engineering IPT Leads, and Mission Systems Technical Leads for the CVN Refueling and Complex Overhaul (RCOH) program by providing accurate and timely data management and documentation. Track all recommendations for additions, deletions, and changes to the Advance Work Package (AWP) and ensure their accurate implementation into the overall RCOH work package. Track and update

Determine customer requirements and translate these requirements into structured training plans and/or organizational plans that support program objectives. Maintain contract deliverables and prepare Action Item Status and Metrics, including weekly closed action item reports and monthly progress reports. Contribute to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards that enhance process efficiency and data management practices. Participate in

ship checks to capture as-built conditions within ship compartments during ship availabilities and accurately document findings. Perform data entry, data tracking, and data validation activities using Microsoft Office tools, particularly Microsoft Excel, to support reporting and analysis. Collaborate with a diverse group of military, government, and contractor personnel and foster a cohesive, team-oriented environment. Communicate clearly and professionally, both orally and in writing, with customers, stakeholders, and team members to ensure shared understanding of requirements, status, and issues. Essential Skills Minimum of 6 years of experience using the Microsoft Office suite, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience in data entry, data tracking, and data management in a technical or engineering-focused environment. Ability to use SharePoint platforms, including sites such as V34 NSERC and
NAVSEA 05
UAT, for tracking action items, archiving files, and managing documentation. Strong written communication skills, including the ability to develop meeting agendas, record detailed meeting minutes, and prepare status and progress reports. Effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams. Ability to work productively with a diverse team that includes military, government, and contractor personnel. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for managing action items, contract deliverables, and documentation. Capability to determine customer requirements and translate them into clear training or organizational plans. Willingness and ability to travel up to approximately 10% as needed for ship checks or related activities. Must be a U.S. citizen, as required for work on U.S. Navy programs. Additional Skills & Qualifications Recent experience supporting NAVSEA or NSWC Dahlgren in the area of data base management is a plus. Experience participating in AWP Reviews, Design Exchanges, IPT meetings, and similar technical forums is highly desirable. Familiarity with U.S. Navy combat systems, ship integration, and refueling and complex overhaul (RCOH) programs is beneficial. Experience capturing and documenting as-built conditions during ship checks or similar field activities is an advantage. A valid U.S. passport is a plus to support potential travel requirements. Demonstrated ability to contribute to process improvements and the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards. Strong general computer literacy and comfort working with collaborative tools such as SharePoint and other document management systems. Well-developed people skills, including the ability to build positive working relationships in a multidisciplinary environment. Work Environment This is a full-time, on-site position based in Dahlgren, VA. You will work closely with engineers, technicians, and support staff in a collaborative environment focused on supporting U.S. Navy programs, including work on non-AEGIS ships such as amphibious platforms, submersibles, and aircraft carriers. The role involves regular use of Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, and extensive use of SharePoint-based systems for tracking action items, managing documentation, and archiving records. You may travel up to approximately 10% of the time, including visits to ships during availabilities to conduct ship checks and capture as-built conditions.
