SUMMARY:
The Coordinator of Testing and Accountability serves as a member of the Division Curriculum & Instruction Team, providing leadership, guidance, and feedback on the division priorities and work, especially regarding assessment and accountability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Assessment & Testing Administration Serve as the division's Director of Testing (DDOT) for all state and local assessments. Plan, coordinate, and oversee the administration of Standards of Learning (SOL) tests and other assessments. Ensure compliance with all testing regulations, security protocols, and audit requirements. Develop and deliver training for school-based testing coordinators. Manage test materials, accommodations, and irregularity reporting. State Reporting & Data Collections Lead and manage federal and state required data submissions. Serve as the primary liaison with VDOE for data collections and accountability reporting. Establish timelines, validation processes, and internal controls to ensure accurate and timely submissions. Monitor changes in state and federal reporting requirements and implement updates accordingly Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across all schools and departments. Develop and enforce data governance procedures and audit protocols Collaborate with registrars and school staff on enrollment, withdrawals, and records compliance. Accountability & Data Analysis Analyze assessment and student data to support school improvement and strategic planning. Prepare and present reports on student performance, accreditation, and accountability metrics. Support leadership in interpreting data for instructional and operational decision-making. Coordinate responses to state and federal accountability designations and reporting requirements. Qualifications Master's degree in education, educational leadership, data analytics, or related field Experience with K-12 assessment, accountability systems, and state reporting Strong knowledge of Virginia Department of Education data collections and SOL testing programs Experience with Student Information Systems and large-scale data management Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret complex data sets Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; interview and select employees and recommend transfers, reassignment, termination, and disciplinary actions; plan, coordinate, and arrange for appropriate training of subordinates.

EXPERIENCE
Must hold a valid teaching license with an endorsement in administration and supervision, PK-12, and five to ten years related experience and/or training preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret education periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Ability to use financial reporting software, be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Google Suite products, including Google Sheets and Google Docs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must hold a valid teaching license with an endorsement in administration and supervision, PK-12, and five to ten years of related experience and/or training preferred.
