South Burlington, Vermont, United States Job Description Job Summary:
The Director, Data Governance, BI & AI provides leadership and strategic direction for UVM Health's enterprise data governance program, business intelligence infrastructure, and artificial intelligence / Copilot capabilities within the Enterprise Analytics department. This role ensures that the organization's data is trusted, well-defined, accessible, and consistently used, and that the analytics environment is increasingly capable through emerging technology adoption. The Director oversees the Enterprise Analytics SharePoint site, the Power BI environment, and the deployment of Microsoft Copilot and AI capabilities that enable self-service analytics and natural language interaction with the data platform.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Data Science, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field required; Master's degree strongly preferred.
Experience:
  • 7+ years of experience in healthcare analytics, data governance, BI, or informatics.
  • 3+ years of leadership or management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading an enterprise data governance program or function.
  • Advanced experience with Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and related Microsoft data platform technologies.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure OpenAI, or similar AI/LLM platforms preferred.
  • Experience with Epic data environments and healthcare data governance standards.
  • Experience working in agile product delivery preferred.
