This Contract to permanent position is ideal for a senior candidate who can translate business needs into secure, resilient, and high-performing cloud-native architectures while partnering closely with engineering and leadership teams. The role focuses on modern platform design, distributed systems, automation, and data ecosystem strategy, with an emphasis on practical delivery, governance, and long-term sustainability.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead the architecture and implementation of AWS-based data and application platforms that support scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency.
  • Define solution patterns for cloud-native systems, including microservices, containers, and serverless components, to meet performance and integration needs.
  • Create and maintain infrastructure automation using tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation, and strengthen delivery pipelines through CI/CD best practices.
  • Establish architectural standards for networking, identity, observability, and security controls across containerized and distributed workloads.
  • Design data platform frameworks that support warehousing, lake architectures, streaming workflows, and integration across enterprise systems.
  • Partner with development, DevOps, and business stakeholders to align technical direction with strategic objectives and delivery priorities.
  • Provide technical leadership through design reviews, documentation, mentoring, and guidance on engineering best practices.
  • Support hybrid or multi-cloud connectivity strategies where needed, including integration with on-premise environments and enterprise platforms.
