Job Description

GIS Technician Merrick & Company paid time off, 401(k) 8051 East Maplewood Avenue (Show on map) May 11, 2026 OVERVIEW Merrick & Company is seeking a full-time GIS Technician at our Greenwood Village, CO office for United States Geological Survey 3D Hydrography Program (3DHP) elevation derived hydrography (EDH) projects and related work. This position requires excellent computer skills and being able to have/obtain the knowledge of processing GIS raster and vector data. The salary range for this position is $19.18
  • $24.
00 per hour depending on experience.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Primary GIS responsibilities for this individual include but not limited to: Utilizing ESRI's ArcGIS suite for remote sensing, cartographic design, data analysis and visualization, and data creation purposes. Data management on large projects Asessing current workflows and developing, improving, and automating where applicable Implementing remote sensing best practices and adapting methodologies to project specifications Familiarity with spatial modeling and geoprocessing for editing purposes Work alongside team members to effectively deliver projects, have an analytical and results driven mindset, and strong dedication to quality and efficiency to succeed in this position.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school or GED required Bachelor's degree, associate's degree, or minor studies in GIS, geography, or related field Knowledge and experience in GIS data processing: ESRI's ArcGIS suite
  • ArcGIS Pro (ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcHydro
  • preferred but not required), ArcDesktop (ArcMap and ArcCatalog), and ArcGIS Online Open-source QGIS preferred but not required Knowledge of DEMs
  • flow accumulations, watershed delineations, geomorphon indicators, and subsequent raster and vector derivatives Workflow automation (Python, VBScript, SQL, and/or Arcade) preferred not required Metadata formatting (ESRI, FGDC, and/or ISO) Geodatabase formatting (USGS 3DHP EDH Schema 1.
5 and/or SDSFIE) Geodatabase feature class and shapefile data familiarity Data analysis, visualization, and editing capabilities Cartographic map design and experience in ArcGIS Online web maps, web applications, and dashboards AutoCAD and Terrasolid product familiarity preferred but not required #LI-Hybrid PERKS Employee Owned
