Bartram Trail Surveying is seeking a detail-oriented GIS Technician & Data/Records Coordinator to support our spatial data integrity office and business growth. This dynamic hybrid role combines GIS data management with key operational functions, including procurement monitoring, digital marketing, and hands-on opportunities with our advanced UAV/drone field operations.Key Responsibilities GIS Data & Spatial Asset Management:
Input, update, and validate spatial and tabular GIS data (addresses, asset IDs, metadata) with high precision. Conduct QA/QC audits to identify and resolve duplicate, incomplete, or incorrectly formatted spatial records. Maintain geospatial databases to support surveying workflows and project deliverables.Office Administration & Record Keeping:
Digitize, archive, and manage historical field books, project files, and backlogged documentation to ensure seamless access. Maintain comprehensive data update logs and oversee records and filing them according to company standards.Business Development & Digital Presence:
Monitor procurement portals, municipal procurement boards, and utility platforms (e.g., JEA, local county portals) for new RFP/bidding opportunities. Manage and create content for company social media channels (Facebook, Instagram) to showcase active projects and brand achievements. Field Operations Support (UAV / Drone): Participate in occasional field missions alongside our drone survey team. Gain hands-on exposure to UAV data capture, processing, and GIS integration. Qualifications & Skills Strong proficiency in data entry with exceptional speed, accuracy, and meticulous attention to detail. Knowledge of or strong eagerness to learn GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS
) and spatial data structures. Familiarity with social media management for business (Facebook, Instagram). Strong organizational skills with the ability to research procurement opportunities and track deadlines. Adaptability to split focus between structured office tasks and occasional field work. Work Environment & Physical Requirements Primary work environment is a standard office setting involving extended periods at a computer. Occasional outdoor field visits requiring exposure to varied terrain and weather conditions alongside the drone survey crew.Job Type:
