Position Description :

This position performs professional, technical, and administrative work utilizing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and other information technology tools for the Parks and Conservation Resources Department. The role directly supports the departmental asset management program related to park infrastructure and landscape maintenance by maintaining and updating the GIS-based asset inventory, analyzing asset life cycles, and preparing risk models to inform planning, budgeting, and long‑term maintenance strategies. Key duties include, but are not limited to: developing, editing, and maintaining GIS data layers and metadata; interpreting aerial imagery; producing map products, reports, and technical documents to support internal and external decision-making; collecting field data using GPS; developing and automating GIS processing workflows; conducting complex spatial analyses; and providing training and technical support to departmental GIS users. Additional responsibilities include importing and processing CAD data from construction site plans and assisting with the development and administration of Esri ArcGIS and Trimble Cityworks applications for use by staff and the general public. Work is performed under the general direction of a program supervisor.
